The Dangers of a Watered-Down Gospel

April 30, 2017

Galatians 4:8-20

What harm can come from watering down the Gospel? Paul addresses this question directly by calling the Galatian Christians and us today to reject the false gospel of salvation by works. Such a teaching produces enslavement to the idol of religion. Instead, we are called to embrace the true gospel: that we are known and loved by God through Christ’s work. The true gospel produces in us security, a rejection of idols, and a love for God.
