Do We Obey the Law or Not?

May 7, 2017

Galatians 5:1-15

Christians are free in Christ Jesus. Paul writes in Galatians 5:1-12 that we are saved by grace and cannot lose our salvation. We can, however, lose our freedom. We lose our freedom when we try to win God’s favor by obedience to the law. The Gospel frees us from the law, and the Gospel frees us to love the law. In verses 13 through 15, Paul warns us not to abuse our Gospel freedom by living however we want. Believers are called to obey the law even more, not out of fear but out of joy.
