Sunday School

Sunday School classes meet from 10:00 to 10:45 am each Sunday. Members of the Welcome Team are available to help you and your children find your way to the appropriate classes.

Adult classes meet on the main floor of the Carraway Davie House. We gather for coffee, donuts, and fellowship time at 9:45 am.

Our classes are focused on teaching God’s Word as revealed in Scripture and applying Scripture to our daily lives so that we might live out our faith for God’s glory. Teachers use both lecture and group discussion to equip the class with knowledge and to foster spiritual growth. Each week’s lesson is designed so that new members and visitors can jump in at any time and participate in the teaching and fellowship.

Early Fall Classes (August 6 – September 24)

Biblical Peacemaking, taught by Charlie Spencer (Parlor) – This class will cover peacemaking examples in Scripture and the underlying principles. The studies include conflicts between God and man, husband and wife, parent and child, and among friends. (August only)

The Jesus Way, taught by Casey Giddens (Parlor) – Based on the book, The Way of the Dragon or the Way of the Lambthis class will explore how we as the Body of Christ can be agents of reconciliation in our weakness, and not in our strength. (September only)

Faith and Work (Part I), taught by Jamie Peterson (Library) – Have you ever asked yourself in the middle of the work day, “What is the purpose of my work?” or “Why is work so hard and frustrating?” This class will use the first two parts of Tim Keller’s book Every Good Endeavor to see what God’s Word says about God’s plan for our work and the problems we all face in our work. Part one of a two-part series.

Numbers: In the Wilderness, taught by John Pearson (Sun Room) – How do we face life’s trials? This study of the book of Numbers will guide our discussion as we learn how God’s sovereignty and grace sustains us through life’s changes and trials.
